How Love Should Be

Let me share with you this part of Matthew Chapter 12… Aside from 1 Corinthians Chapter 13, this chapter’s teaching about love is among my favorites. It talks about how love should be doing to you and what you should be doing in the name of love – its complexities and how it brings the good and bad in us.

In my post last February 24, Regrets, I guess I sounded vengeful. I gathered up all the pain I had and ended up posting something about hate “after” love. There’s a thin line between those two things… I know I crossed the line, but I’m glad that at the end of the day, I was awakened that I should not be planting hate inside me… I opted not to delete that post even though it seemed so hateful, because it’s a lesson to learn.

I love the love I am feeling now, because it’s not a love that makes me want to scream of confusion and anger… It’s a love that makes me feel good about myself.

I love the love that reminds me to become a better person every day. I love the love that tells me to be happy, because that’s the best revenge I could ever give to those who hurt me. I love the love that makes me realize my mistakes and learn from them. I love the love that takes me out of my comfort zone and lets me live the real life. I love the love that brings out the best in me…

Because that’s how love should be. It’s hard to know if you have finally found the right one, but if it’s a love that colors your world in rainbows and classic shades of silver and gold, if it makes you see the wonders of life, if it makes you envision a future full of genuine happiness, if it embraces your flaws with complete acceptance, if it makes you humble of yourself and proud of the emotion, if it makes you lie down on your bed and smile like an idiot, if it makes you see the moon and the stars in the most special way, and if it makes you look at yourself like how you really want yourself to be, then maybe you got it… You got how love should be. 😉
