It is not the money on your pocket
That lets you buy an expensive cigarette;
Not the fortune you’ve been saving,
All for the glory of extravagant spending.

It is not the beauty of being high above the sky,
Seeing the clouds below you as you fly,
Or the scream as you take a deep breath,
And jump on the cliff as if it’s your death.

It is not the diamond on your finger
With a promise still uncertain from your lover;
Not the way they call your name,
A superiority you won from a dangerous game.

One may tell a tale so worthy,
But the end is not entirely its beauty;
For it is not the end of the tunnel you crossed,
But the journey, all the risks you tossed.

A Tear for Fear

First of the year.

I’m trying my best to cope with something that I’ve been going through lately, so I guess I’m sorry, self, for starting the year (and the decade) with a sad piece.

To Hold

It’s been awhile.

Wrote a short verse while on my way to work this morning. Magandang umaga! 😊

The photo was taken along Jones Bridge, Manila, Philippines and was post-processed by yours truly.

Poetry for You

Well, hello there, last day of May! 🙂 There’s this “Instagram game” that I participated in, and I realized the poems I made for this game are worth sharing. Here’s the deal:

Haha. Alright let’s do this! ☺️
Now you have to follow a few steps.
1. Send me a special number so that I can post the number and write something about you 😉
2. Put the same status as mine (Drop a ❤ and I will write something about you.)
(If not, I won’t post anything. It’s about celebrating people whilst they’re alive/in our lives& not when they are no longer with us.)
3. Once you are done, I will post the number you sent with what I promised to do in the caption.
This is about appreciation.

But instead of writing a plain message, I decided to tweak it a little bit and write a poem for those who would respond. Now here are those!

It was a challenge, writing poems about several people, but it was fun! And I’m glad they liked what I did for them 🙂
