After all this time? Always. (a poem-tribute to Alan Rickman a.k.a. “Professor Severus Snape”)

You’ve always had your eyes on poor Harry,

The moment he came to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,

Every reader and movie fan perhaps hated you at first,

And in a wizard’s head, a million times, you were cursed;

But not in Slytherin, not in Slytherin,

You were hailed great in the House that you are in,

All the books were published and all the movies were shown,

Oh, Severus, you’re one of the bravest men I’ve ever known;

To the Half-Blood Prince and your last few moments with Harry,

For the unconditional love you’ve given Lily,

To my favorite Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher,

In our hearts you will be alive forever;

Now that you’ve left the Muggle world,

Oh, Professor, you will be missed for good,

I will never be old enough for the fantasies of magical days,

After all this time? ALWAYS.

*****

Here’s to all the Potterheads who are grieving right now for the death of Alan Rickman, our Professor Severus Snape.
